Has anyone looked into using a Borg Warner k0422-582 gasser turbo from a Mazda?
I've got a nearly new unit to try. I'm unsure if its suitable for a tdi tho.
I've found this compressor map tho..
Anyone got any thoughts?
looks like a pretty good turbo, but i don't think it would work well on an otherwise stock tdi as it looks to be pretty big. if u got the time to kill its worth a try, just depends what u expect from your car
Ive got quite a few mods on my m-tdi including an 11mm pump, .216s, front mount intercooler and 2.5" exhaust so spooling it shouldn't be much of an issue, looks to be around the same size as a k24. I may take it apart and measure inducer and exducer diameters...
Inducer and exducer sizes wont really help gain any knowledge since u already have the compressor map. But that thing flows like twice what a k24 will. It looks like a really nice turbo thats efficient at high boost levels.
