SOLD!!1982 4 door rabbit 1.6NA this car runs and drives great. I have had this car for a little over a year, looking to move up to a MK4 TDI.
I have done a ton of stuff to this car including totally gutting the interior and replacing the sound deadening and carpet pad and headliner.
New parts:
KYB strut bearings, Bosch Duratherm glow plugs, radiator, coolant bottle, head gasket, piston rings and timing set, tail light housings and rebuilt the tail light sockets, headliner, shifter bushings, under car boot and cover, and windshield.
Other stuff I have done:
FIxed the ODO, it has an estimated 500K, added a 1/8" headphone jack to keep that retro look and still have my tunes, new speakers in the dash, replaced all the sunroof drain lines, upgraded the rear springs with heavier rated ones from the parts place as I carry extra people a lot, gently used hankook Ipike snow tires, at about 70 percent tread life. Pimped the glow plug wiring using Vince Waldon's writeup.
Random noteworthy sheight:
The rims are supposedly from a MK1 scirocco S, can't confirm that but I have had several offers for just the rims. I have all five but a couple are curbed some. The dash is not cracked at all its the best I have seen to date.
I do have this listed locally for a bit higher asking price.
