Hey guys, My car went into the shop today to get the exhaust fixed. Its pretty rotten right from the bend up front (down pipe I think) and right to the tail pipe. The flange up front on the down pipe is probably good enough to weld onto, but my question is should I go to a larger pipe size on the down pipe and right to the end of the exhaust. Maybe 2.25 or 2.5 in?
Let me know asap as I will be talking to the exhaust guys in the early am.
Cheers
Thx. Will I have to mod anything else for this larger exhaust to work? Turbo etc?
Not really IMO, if you're gonna weld the new pipe to the remaining bowl.
Larger diameter pipe will be stronger at the bowl than the smaller original... they tend to crack right there.
Thx again Just waiting to hear from the sho now to see what can be done about that down pipe
I would make sure the shop opens the hole in the bowl... no point in getting big pipe if they leave a little hole.
Well I had to buy the entire down pipe. Mine was rotted to bad. So I have a brand new stock exhaust. Oh well. Maybe mod it later.
Thx for the help
Cheers
