am I the only person here that's stripped out 85 mk2 diesels w/solid lifters and found ME/MF stamped on the block?

Possible, I mean if you have real world experience.. then the stuff I found online is incorrect. From what I have read though, the ME and MF started the hydro lineup.

You don't have to be a dink about it ;). Maybe the info I saw was German only.. ?

MF could be either, as I own a mech MF, but I have never seen any ME mechs ever.

best way is to get pic of old head/block for saftey.. take to pm... but yes can be made to fit hydro... is it worth it no... 8v just sold a hydro one for a little more... the machine work needed for plugging the extra oil passage is not "simple" but can be dome.. think cooling passage in head vs oil..

but imo hydro heads are hard to find vs solid.. 12mm solid hardest it seem.. and 11mm most skip not relizing it can fit them all with little work..
