B3 gas to diesel W terminal wiring... woes

So im down to the last bit of this project and the tach doesnt work. The cluster im using is from 93 b3 passat AAZ... The harness has all needed wires and we have the W terminal hooked up from alt to the few box in what we determined was the right plug and pin U1/06 that then feeds into t28/10 running the guage... STUMPED!!

so who has fixed a w terminal in one of these alts???
