I may get one, if they come in something other than red and they have something other than the 2.0.
This new Golf 7 version features a 1968cc 184 hp, 280 pound-feet of torque (@1700 RPM!!!!) beast, and will get 56mpg combined European Cycle. It will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 7.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 143mph. The GTD will be offered in three colors: “Tornado Red”, “Black”, and “Pure White”.
30,000 Euro being released to Germany in June of this year.. so figure it being closer to $50,000 IF it makes it here..
No one in this country would pay near 50k for a golf.
Also, how can you say that when a lesser Jetta or Golf TDI already goes for $32,000? I'd say its gonna be closer to $40k if anything.
It doesn't really matter, I can't afford to buy any cars right now.
I've been pissed with VW since the early 1990's - sorry to sound dated and old. VW makes the diesel option a loaded option. Basically can't just buy a diesel engine package - rather it is bundled with other options that I really don't want or need and in effect, crank the price of a the vehicle up big bucksWhen are they going to learn?mildly angry in Canada.
