So i sent my garrett t3 turbo from my 1.6td rabbit in to be rebuilt by a local turbo shop and they called me today saying that the housing is bad/unfixable and they cannot find a replacement housing anywhere.
Ive looked and called around to some online sites with no luck, first does anyone have a spare housing theyd be willing to sell

? If not, are there any recommendations for businesses to contact and/or other options of other/easier to locate turbo setups that may work. Thanks

I have a bunch of vw t3 stuff I don't want which housing do u need? Bearing housing? Compressor housing? If its turbine housing I don't have a good one. If u need a need a new compressor housing u probably need a new wheel too let me know I'd love to see this stuff get used instead if sitting in my basement until I throw it away
It is the turbine housing that is the issue, I guess it is cracked in a couple different spots.
I would assume a turbo shop knows what's ok and what's not but all the t3s I have seen had cracks in a few places but nothing that looked like it hurt anything except for on the waste gate valve seat but even then I don know how important that seal really easy

I called this place (xsboost)and they seemed helpful, talked to Dave there and am waiting to hear back from him to see if he can find anything. Thanks for the info
So XSboost seemed promising, they received the only supposedly good housing from their supplyer but ended up having a bad wastegate which I guess makes these no good because they are not replaceable on these housings. I have looked and called everywhere with no luck finding a good housing. I have now also posted in the want section.
Sadly it is coming down to looking like I will have to buy a rebuilt turbo without having a core. He best price I've found is $600 from quality German auto in California who has them redone by turbo city. Any other suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks
where is your housing cracked? What was wrong with the other wastegate? They are serviceable if you are creative.
I cant remember everything the builder told me but they ensured me it was really bad, i dont know all the turbo terminology but i think they mentioned cracked bad at the flapper valve and the flange was bad enough it wouldnt seal. And Dave at xsboost said the wastegate on the one he found was "mangled" so dont know exactly.
Ive located a rebuilt AAZ K14 turbo for a reasonable price, im doin some searching now to figure out how it would effect the 1.6 differently and what i would need to do to get it to work if i have to go that route.
K14 on a 1.6 is a real nice turbo, spools up quick and still holds good boost. Ran mine at 20psi day in day out no issues, probably a little in-efficient but was all good.
