Turbo Heat Shield For AAZ
« on: January 25, 2013, 07:26:07 am »
Does anybody here have this heat shield they want to sell for an AAZ Motor? Item 24 shields the turbo from the intake manifold. Item 27 helps to support the heat shield at the top.
When I got my AAZ it didn't have these.
Thanks.

Tony

How do you wash a pressure washer?
And did you know that the 14th floor in a
hotel is actually the 13th floor!

Sorry, but only registered users can see that part diagram.  Can you take a snapshot?

Mine was in pretty bad shape by the time I got it separated from the manifold...  :-\  It went in the scrap heap.

I used one of these flexible shields between the turbo and intake mani, very moldable to shape, easy to work it in even with everything installed.

Just an FYI, AFAIK that shield is the same for the transverse 1.6TD and AAZ.

I don't know how picky you are but I made one out of a piece of aluminum. A few minutes a drill and snips it is done.

Not picky at all. Just checking to see if one is out there. I prefer to stay original in most cases but this one in not critical.

Sweet! I just sent him a pm. I'll let you know if he still has it.
Just heard from him. He still has it.
Apparently there are two sizes.
One for AAZ and one for Vanagons he said.

Thanks RustyCaddy. By the way, if you cave a Caddy, I have a rear sliding window for a Caddy if you are looking for one.
New never been used. The squirrels ate the box though.

He's wrong.  Those two shields go on the same engine.  One is part 24 in your diagram and the other is part 30.

Sorry, lost mine or else I'd give it to you.  I'll let you know if I find it, though.  Gonna be running a PD mani so I'll need to make my own.
