Quite frankly, I think the results were rigged. I don't know one person who didn't want the GMO labeling.

exactly, i don't see why anyone would vote no except by mistake.  Even if i didn't mind eating gmo foods, i'd still want to know that i am eating them.  Monsanto has a strong grip on government tho so i guess it is not a huge surprise.

We the people not standing up for __________ will be the end of life as we knew it. Everyone in North America has at least 200% more than most Africans, they would consider the bums of America rich. Greed is relative

I've heard the code/sku thing is inconsistent at best. Buy from your farmers if you are able, I know I'm lucky to live in an area where things can grow year round.

Best way to avoid gmo's right here. Eat local and eat in season.

Best thing is to grow your own, if you have the time and space.

OT.  I live in Florida and I am bummed because looks like citrus greening disease has wiped out all 8 of my citrus trees after giving them TLC for 10 years.  There were part of my retirement plan :'(

I have heard horror stories about GMO foods. I think the verdict is still out.

What are there now 8 billion people on the planet? That takes a lot of food.
Perhaps GMO can supplement the more natural sources of food.

Let's hope that the planet stays warm so that crops will grow. A mini ice age
would be disastrous and cause massive starvation..

I can tell a difference. If I eat GMO foods I usually have gas, but the main thing is I am hungry much quicker than if I eat more natural stuff. Feeding deer with GMO corn vs. open pollenation corn = they will leave that GMO sit until it is the only thing left to eat. I don't know the long term of it in humans or deer, but I figure I will let others figure it out, then decide.

That is interesting that you seem to be able to detect the differences in your gut. I must only eat gmo as am full of it all the time :)

GMO and petroleum based fertilizers do not produce more calories per acre the only reduce the labor costs. How many of the 7-8 billion people have anything better to do than farm organically?

This might work for produce but corn products like tortillas still don't show if they are GMO.

I think the lack of labeling has helped sell organic products.
At least then you know it's not GMO.
