1.6TD part out
« on: December 24, 2012, 12:23:14 pm »
3 kolbenschmidt 1mm oversize pistons. I'm told they were run for about 15k but then the engine dropped a precup. There is quite a bit of wear on the edge indicating bad injectors. I can get a 4th brand new Kolbenschmidt piston for $120 if you want to make it a complete set. No rings. I can get a set of cofap rings for $100. Wrist pins are rusty from sitting and will not slide into the pistons. I had to tap them out with a brass drift but I have made no efforts to reinstall them beyond what you see in the pictures (and that's as far as they slide easy). $100 for all 3.

#1 1.6TD pump SOLD. Clean insides, snapped rotor. Would make a good candidate for converting a NA pump to TD. Insides are as clean as the one pictured below. $60

#2 1.6TD pump. SOLD Clean insides. Needs to be resealed. The spacer between the rotor and the camplate is floating around inside the pump (oops) so it needs to be taken apart. $120

1.6 non AC pulleys and adjusting bracket. This setup has the clutched waterpump pulley. You MUST have power steering to use this setup. The alternator doesn't really spin but I'll throw it in if you want it, otherwise it is just the pulley off it. $40

1.6TD head - I can get a 0.002" feeler under the straight edge but not a 0.003". Was running a performance cam and the timing drifted. All 4 exhaust valves left imprints on the pistons so they should be replaced. $120 I can get new exhaust valves for $12 each and new guides for $2.50 each. Please note the scoring on cam cap #3 and #5. No cam or lifters included.

1.6 hydraulic performance cam $50 SOLD Unknown regrind. Roughly 3mm taken off exhaust base circle and 5.8mm taken off intake base compared to a used cam. This is the cam from the above mentioned head that had run ins with the exhaust valves. Be very careful timing it, it's obviously borderline unsafe.

T3 Turbo. Too much side to side, about 1mm in and out. Missing one downpipe stud. It threaded out. No broken studs. $50

1.6NA head Removed from my 1991 Golf. Was running well but engine had low compression. Valves definitely need to be lapped at the least.
No cracks in the head, 2 precups are slightly cracked (see photos). Warp is 0.003" It wouldn't hurt to deck it to clean up the surface but it should be ok as-is. FWIW casting number is the exact same as the 2 TD heads I have for sale.

Added another head to the list bump. Also updated my head specs, I had written mm but had measured in thousands.
