fuel injectors...when to replace???
« on: December 06, 2012, 12:48:17 pm »
Hi guys, kind of on a "lets make it better" kick since i sealed my pump and re set the timing. My question:
When do you know or when should you replace the injectors on our AAZ's? (1.9) My car seems to be running great, no smoke ( OK minimal smoke ;) but I have read other posts that guys couldn't believe the difference once they swapped out injectors. My car has about 350K on it and i have no idea if the PO changed them or not.
From searching on the net it appears that the AAZ injectors are hard to find, is this true? Is rebuilding them a difficult job? special tools etc. I think Vince has a post on this but not for the AAZ injectors.
Or should I just take a page out of the "if it aint broke don't fix it" manual, and leave well enough alone ;D ;D

Cheers

Wade

If you are good then you have Bosch type, you`ll never have so good ones.
Or if you have pop tester you can clean and check press.
I`ll improve my English

You can check the spray pattern and first opening pressure of those injectors using standard equipment.
Those nozzles are not available new from BOSCH as far as I know.
They can be cleaned and recalibrated but the person doing it needs to know what they are doing. Giles has the equipment and knowledge to do this.
