The bushings in the block that the oil pump passes through to drive the vac pump...that is what I was talking anyhow.

I've gotten those not too long ago.  They appear to still be available from VW and I imagine they will be for a while yet as they are the same in the AAZ and AHU/1Z.  056103541.  I think if your dealer said they were NLA then he's just a lazy sod.

yeah alot of parts guys have a severe case of laziness, anytime you say a year before 1993 its nla with out them even looking, our local dealer has a good parts guy, u can always call any parts guy all around the country.  i've done that before i was trying to get the unlock code for my gfs 90 cabriolet radio some dealers just wont do it and some want to charge, i just kept calling around till i got someone to do it.

Any good way to take those vacuum pumps apart?

(I had the top off one but that was as far as I went.)
