I see, I'll call them up and see if I can return it. I guess I need to find a Mk2 flywheel that fits the 210?

all mk2 gas pressure plates were setup for 210mm clutches..

i believe the diesels may have still gotten the 200mm setup tho..

the 16v pressure plate provides EXTRA HOLDING POWER, without a heavier feel to the clutch pedal..

Yea swap to a 210.its not the pressure plate so much,the 16vb unit is fair,its the disc.
just dont forget to redo the tdc mark on the new 210 fw,it isnt correct for a diesel
now,on my tdi-m i ran a 210 clutchnet red setup and it was awesome
it felt a little stiffer but held like nothin i evr seen.and it wasnt bad in traffic either,not chattery at all,its in the disc compound too.
i ran a sintered copper and it was a chattery bastard on a 16v press plate.
like 5+ years ago mine was like 400 somethin for my red setup
i also reinforced the welds on the clutch cable tube deal under the dash before it became a problem too..hope that may have helped some

TDC is TDC..

there is a TDC mark on most flywheels..

but some only have a TIMING MARK, and no TDC mark..

but, like i said, if it has a TDC mark, then its in the right spot..

Tdc mark,timing mark either way,if you are using a 210mm fww,have fun the first time you do a timing belt and use the oe marks.....get one of these" tools" and its easy to check for true tdc after that.

there is a difference between TDC and the timing mark..

TDC is TDC, somewhat self explanatory.. if you know VWs very well, you know its next to a recess in the flywheel for a bolt head..

but if you end up with a digifant flywheel, with ONLY a timing mark (6*) and no TDC mark, then it makes timing a real pain..

i had to mark a TDC mark on that flywheel.. then it timed perfectly.

MOST VW FLYWHEELS come with a TDC mark, FWIW..

diesels and gassers DO NOT have a difference between TDC marks..

TDC is TDC wether its a gasser or diesel..

WARNING:  Some aftermarket OEM flywhheel/clutch kits such as Sachs and Valeo might not come with a TDC mark.  My 228mm setup for my 02A AAZ for a G60 didn't come with one.  I know it will be for an 020, but check your timing marks on the new flywheel.  If they don't have it then just transfer yours from the old FW.

if you get a diesel flywheel, it will be heavier than your stock gasser 190mm wheel..

you might get better interest from the air cooled bug market for your clutch.. why cant you return it? they sold you the wrong one!

you can get 12#, 15#, and 19# flywheels..

the diesel flywheels are 19# usually, although mine came off a mk3 2.0L..

ive ran all 3.. im currently running a 12# wheel..

it broke the tires loose easier with a 19# wheel..

i really didnt notice the revs being faster or slower with any certain wheel, but the idle was smoothest with the 19#

im running the 12# wheel so i can hopefully end up with more traction on the bottom end.. looks like im gonna be driving the diesel all winter, so its gotta perform decent on wet roads..
