Just a thought.... aluminum wins the thermal expansion race so why not drive er good and hot, ice the injector and crack em out?  Maybe spray air in can upside down in the fuel hole lol

I am not sure removing the top portion of the injector will relieve the holding power of the threads at the injector boss.  It will remove the part of the injector that has the little barbs on it and get that problem out of the way.  Then a light heat from a propane torch on the aluminum should expand that without expanding the remaining injector bottom.  Put a nice fat 27 mm socket on it and give it a snap with a breaker bar, connected directly to the socket, no extension needed.  Deep socket of course.

Does not seem odd to have this trouble getting injectors out but, taking the injectors apart in place seems more of a pain.  You have to use an open ended 22 mm wrench on the flats and that isn't as good as the socket, can't use an impact and likely just as bad of a risk with torque into the head.

Soak with brake fluid and heat multiple times.  They are not welded in they are just VW'd in.  Have to snap them out not pry or push on the tool delivering the torque.  It is the bump that does the work not the slow build of tension.  At least that is my experience on most every nut and bolt on my car.

I've broken alot of injectors loose.
 Had some scary ones but never had one that wouldn't come out.
 Never had a set that I pushed a cheater bar this hard.
 Putting any more force to it would be out of control, no control over how hard I push the injector to the side when I'm pushing so hard on the handle 3 feet away.

 I don't think trying to make all the sideways force go toward the head doesn't make me feel safe when it's this much force. The aluminum along the front of the injectors is still too thin, even when shoving toward the head.

 I think the actual breaking loose of the injector will be much safer with an impact wrench, it will be easy to eliminate side force to the injector.
 I wouldn't used the impact to remove the injector, once it starts moving a breaker bar should be used to move it back and forth, while spraying lube  as it's removed.

Yepper,  Impact is safer way to snap it loose.  I agree.  Still might give it a blast of heat for good measure.
