I have my 1.9 aaz td engine and I was looking at getting my 90 amp alternator rebuilt and have the clutched pulley put on it. Before I do the rebuild, does a 120 amp alternator bolt directly on or is there modifications needed???

its a direct swap but with no w terminal for the tach.

there is a way to make your own W terminal by opening the Alt and adding a diode or something.. like that..
Search for it on here.. someone wrote about it. or google adding W terminal to alternator or something.

Easy - the W is a lead between one of the coils and the bridge rectifier (diode).

perfect. My only other question is, part of the reason I want to go this route is for the clutched pulley. Will the clutched pulley work and line up properly??

Were your lower amp core returns accepted for the 120 amp?

Just wait a week or two before returning the core. They won't remember won't came in the box. Most of the time they pitch the boxes and ALL cores go into the same 55 gallon drum in the back.

Will the clutched pulley on AAZ alternators and "w terminal" driven tachometers give you RPM drop on deceleration?

90% of the time no but mine has done funny things once or twice.
