Very nice!  I agree with you that the Acme kit is the way to go.  On a similar project I did, I made my own tach setup using a pickup from a small engine and welding a couple tabs to the back of the harmonic.  Worked perfectly with the factory toyota tach.  If your interested I'll dig up some pics for you.

Oh yea , exhaust wrap on the head pipe is a must if ya ask me, when I had the engine in the first time before the rebuild the heater hose coming out of the back of the head was getting extremely hot

Heat wrap cooled it right down... Good stuff

I really recommend the intercooler too cooled egt's  from 1300* at 60mph to 800* at 60mph

If you already have the dakota then use it for sure.  I can't help you with the install though since I've never seen one but it should be pretty straight forward.

You are lacking the hockey puck (pressure control valve/oil separator) on the valve cover.  If your air filter ever gets dirty enough to develop any vacuum, without the puck in place you run the risk of even a fresh engine running away.

You have the same valve cover my 1.7 Gas had on it.

You can either make one up out of a elbow and some hose, as it has to sit level.. or get a different manifold.. or just put an oil catch can in line of that thick rubber tube you got between cover and intake. (<--- Best option ;) )

1897 Samurai
1985 VW 1.6 TD

Amazing what the 19th century was able to produce  ;D

Looks great though! Question what turbo are you using? And how much boost?

I'm really jealous. I really want a samurai or a sidekick to mod out. They are fantastic. Especially once you go TD!

I've got a 1.6td in my sidekick.  It has the samurai alternator on it and I'm using the dakota digital tach adaptor.  What do you need to know?  I am upgrading to a 2006 gm ad230 alt soon.

Also what did you do for your bottom rad hose?  I designed this piece so I can get rid of the 180 degree hose bend to the rad.

How do I hook it up I thought I had it but guess not

I chopped a "U" shaped hose down , kinda cobbled one together
Got a pic of your design

I think it is the k24 and before I rebuilt the engine I could get 25 psi boost almost 30 with the waste gate plugged
I have had it to 20 psi after the rebuild but will try not to push it past that

Has a ton of power it seems like, I have 31 inch tires and I can run 75 mph and get there pretty quick

Ahh you get what most seem to not understand.. 30 psi is good for anything out of most turbos.. EXCEPT FOR HEAT AND WORSE PERFORMANCE!

Have you got it inter cooled? If not even 20 is hurting your power gains..

Yes intercooler installed and it really helped the egt's it seems to make good power until 20 after that doesn't pull as hard
