found out today that during the install of my headgasket one night my buddys dad took the gaskets off the block and put it on the work bench. later that night it rained and the roof leaked on the gasket for two days.

could that have done something to it :?:

is it steel or fiber? I don't think it would have  effected it. coolent runs through it all the time? and there is water in coolent? i

Yes but coolant is anti-corrosive so it doesn't rust out the insides of the engine.

If it's metal I don't think it's bad, if it's a fiber headgasket... now's a good idea to get a metal one :wink:

it was fiber so i am going to go with 1.9 metal just to be safe
