11mm pump
« on: July 29, 2012, 07:53:39 am »
Hi,

Ive fitted an 11mm head into my Peugeot 1.9 xud pump and shimmed the main spring on the govnpr, Im using the pump on a Peugeot 2.1 xud and at idle it knocks really bad, ive altered the timing abd it has no significant effect,
Does running an 11mm affect the pump pressure and advance piston? Is there anyway i can bring them back to where theyre supposed to be?

Cheers in advance,

Brett

Provided you didn't get crud in the injection system that is making an injector leak into the engine, your issue is timing.  Retard it until it doesn't knock.  To say timing doesn't have any effect just means you haven't gone far enough.

Ok fair enough, looks like I got to do some more trial and error then,

Will report back,
Does injection break pressure affect timing?

Yes, increasing break pressure retards the timing and requires a more advanced injection to make it run properly.
