Maybe your wastegate is stuck open. A k14 should spool up very quick, with very little lag.
I had a AAZ as my first car about 7 years ago, I remember it had almost no turbo lag. Maybe it had the K03 on it but I was too 16 to even care. Also the car has a new down pipe maybe 2"+ and it's straight piped. Don't the VNT's have some adjustable turbine wheel system? How would I even run that on my car.
Figure out what turbo you have an check the obvious first. With my Giles pump and 3" DP I had 5lbs around 2,000. It didn't start running good until 7+psi. I had a K24 though.
very carefully.. VNTs are not a BOLT ON AND GO upgrade for us. our engines have no native way to control the vanes.
I know the power potential is there but I just want to be able to take off from a light

It's more manageable now before it was either nothing or spinning the wheels. I think I need to retime my Giles pump and maybe get a larger downpipe.Lastly while I was talking to Giles a few weeks ago he said the bottom plug on the pump doesn't have to be plugged in. It's clearly not the shut off valve but what is that for. I searched and couldn't find it.Quote from: R.O.R-2.0 on June 16, 2012, 07:11:46 amvery carefully.. I think he said if he boost it to hard/ shift's to hard he snaps an axle and hes gone about 7 now. I know the power potential is there but I just want to be able to take off from a light
i just recently installed a VNT20 on my 1.6TD, its not quite tuned yet tho, so i havent broken any axles/transmissions as of yet..even if you just TUNE your existing pump better, there is power to be gained.. i tuned/built my pump myself, and it makes really good power for a stock pump. ive got a 10mm Peugeot injection pump that will be going on as soon as i get the turbo working as i want it to..
