Have AAA? I've been driving for almost 20 years, I've had one flat that wasn't the result of an accident/impact. I wouldn't worry about carrying a spare.

Mystery, bad call.. lol gonna happen as soon as he gets rid of the spare.
If you cant fit a full size, then I guess you have no options. Can you fit the mk3 spare?

I carry an extra 14" snowflake in my MK2 jetta. It sticks up a small amount, but not so much you notice unless I had to put my 4x10 bass cab in the back. It was too long to get it in with the tire there. It would fit once it was in but it made the opening small enough that it wouldn't fit. I would guess it adds 2 inches above the floor of the trunk. It is very usable for me. I don't know if a 13" would work, but I carried a 13" when I didn't carry the snowflake and it seemed level with the trunk floor.

im gonna look into the mk3 spare..
ive got 2 SPARES in my trunk right now. a ghetto, worn out 14 for the front, and a doughnut for whatever else..
so, if it comes down to it, ill just take the stock spare out, and use a full size..
