just as the title states, is the boost bypass valve on the SAAB intercooler a problem? it sure doesnt seem to take much pressure to open it..
yes, i know that the inlet and outlet should in theory have very close to the same pressure.. but still.. why is it there? and is it enough of a problem to worry about?
I've run several of them and haven't worried about it but then again, I wouldn't know if it opened. It shouldn't ever open because like you say, the pressure differential shouldn't be very big at all. If concerned, I'd think it would be easy to disable it. Make a spacer to take the place of the spring.
why is it there? so in theory the engine can idle, even with a 100% obstructed intercooler?
