My 81 with the rear wiper did that. I flipped it so it sprayed out. I completely forgot about that until you said something fatmobile. Never used it for tailgaters, just friends. I would also turn it to spray people on the sidewalks if I was feeling the need. This was also when I was younger and stupid.

Your 81 had a rear wiper?  I was thinking that I should look around for an 84 Hatch with the wiper.  I could really use one.  For Tailgaters and such.  Had a guy fly up on me this weekend.  Thought OK head back on the head rest he is going to punch me good.  Barely missed touching me as he hooked it to the right lane then quickly took the next exit.  Perhaps to change pants?

Getting caught in stop and go traffic with the VW I can't accelerate with the turbo crowd of BMW's, Audi's and other VW's.  Once we get flowing at 40 it is not a problem.  Just getting started with the traffic at a dead stop is the tough part.

Yep, 81 Diesel n/a LS trim. It had the rear wiper and was quite useful. I have asked around and not all LS had the rear wiper. I know where my old 81 sits and I think I could get it, but it has been sitting for years and is probably no longer good.

I did that when I had my Jeep Cherokee. The little hose going to the rear wiper sprayer would fall out. One time this teenage girl in a red BMW convertible wouldn't back off and kept tailgating me impatiently while I was going through a residential area. I gave her a little spray. It startled her, she dropped her cigarette, freaked out and slammed on the brakes in the middle of a busy corner frantically trying to stop the cigarette from burning the interior. I felt a little bad but it was pretty funny. I think it was probably her father's car. I bet her parents wouldn't have been pleased. ;D

so update:

Ive seen this guy TWICE since our little altercation.

Once, he flew by me again when I was in my work van on the same road, but I recognized the plate and DB driving style.

And a second time I was meeting my GF for dinner at this little place out and western RI, and followed this POS for about 5 miles again in my work van.  He was right in front of me, same car, same plate, same cigarette saturated ***hole in the driver seat.  (forgot to mention in original post, the guy had cigarette ash all over him and the inside center console of his car, was disgusting).

I considered blowing off the date and stopping for a good old fashioned brawl with this guy, but decided not to do it in a company vehicle, plus the GF put it in perspective for me later.

"How often do you get to rear end some SOB with official police sanction?  how angry do you think this guy is that you got away with it, even with a cop there, and he just left with no money or insurance, plus he's the one with the bumper scuff."   ;D
