Today, we swapped out the engine from my dads 91 golf, to an aaz 1.9td.. From an 97 Jetta... And the swap worked out well-ish, since we already drove it

but the turbo this aaz has a vacuum operated wastegate, and a hose coming off it, going to a solenoid... What does that do? And how do I wire it up? Thanks guys!
I would leave it disconnected. It's designed to reduce boost under light load conditions. When vacuum is applied to the one side of the wastegate it can open up sooner with less boost. If you want a quicker spool and better throttle response, leave it disconnected. If you're looking for the best efficiency then hook it up with the solenoid valve. The micro switch on the injection pump controls this solenoid.
Thanks for the info! But ur saying I get more power leaving it out.. Than that's what I'm gonna do
Hook it up to a kill switch that only you know about, so when your wife drives your car, she doesn't flog the *** out of it just because "she can". I've seriously considered making my car N/A on demand when my wife hops in just to save the engine from her.

I wouldn't want to ride with your wife.

But I do like the idea of having a 'hi-lo' system that splices directly into the stock system; power when you need it, efficiency and driveability when you'd rather not lay into it around town.
dual pressure electronic boost controller.
Cheap, change boost with toggle switch.
honda guys have been running them for years.
