Does vw even make parts anymore? When I first purchased my car , the waterpump pulley had waaay to much play in it but didnt leak 1 drop of antifreeze, but it was a genuine vw waterpump.

I'm not quite sure what you mean.

VW, like pretty much any car company, has long used third party suppliers to manufacture a lot of the parts on the car, even ones that have the little VW/Audi logo. There are just too many different things that have very different manufacturing processes for one company to do it all.
