you can tell the difference between vented and solid rotors. well, i could atleast..

i took the solid disks off my Jetta and threw some old audi coupe GT vented disks, and it stopped better..

True, ( I have vented rotors on my rabbit :) ) but at minimum I think it's a viable option for those who recently replaced their brakes, and for whatever reason, opted for the solid rotors, but now realize there's more to be had without replacing the nearly new solid rotors.
Green 83 Rabbit 4dr, 5 speed ACH trans swap, ported 1.6D mech lifter w/ vnt15, na pump w/ gov mod, gasser intake mani, 2.5" exhaust, bilstein sports and cut mk2 springs, ss brake lines, 14" vw bottlecaps

1 reason solid is good vs vented... winter slush/puddles... i had issues years ago on my addy with vented and slush puddles.. they would cool off so fast that you had to get them rewarmed to stop.. solid did not have said issue... so my winter ride keeps solid..

vented is stage 1...

10.1" is stage 2 and works pretty freeken great in old mk1 cars.. some audi 4k quattro calper carriers = same as 16v rocco.. good to go.. 4kq = 84-88 so many more in yards then 16v..

11" roddo is stage 3... i put them on my kubvan.. i owned the conversion stuff.. for years... they overkill... but throw 1000lbs in the back.. non issue to stop...

i LOVE the 10.1s on my GLI... they are drilled, and vented, but im not aware of a solid 10.1 rotor..
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the feedback/comments! My reason? Because it was a learning experience and its COOL! nothing more :-) Here is an update of my intercooler system. Larger rad going  in tomorrow have to make end tanks for my larger core. Hood will have a opening with induction for the top mount.

Cheers:

Andrew

I noticed very drastic braking improvments when i switch from solid rotors to vented and drilled rotors. Fit my original calipers and everything.
But, for the sake of over engineering... would these be over kill? ;)
