91 Eco diesel no crank and seat belt light on
« on: July 13, 2013, 10:16:36 am »
Hey guys,  tonight after work I went to start my car and it didn't want to crank over..After a bit of looking around and finding nothing obvious we bump started the car and I was off to home..  Now since I got home the car will still not crank over and while driving home my seatbelt light is on continuosly...After a bit of research and bently reading I may have a problem with the passive seatbelt system starter interlock.. Some things I read says you can bypas it.. How do I do that?

Car is a 91 eco diesel.

Thx

IIRC you can jumper wires in the door, but my memory is vague on the matter.

So I chased down the wiring in the door pillar/post.  It was previously cut and joined together.  Bypassed.  I took the door panel off an the chased the wires and sure enough they were cut by the window mechanism.  Reattached the wires together and now she starts fine.

Thanks again
