DON'T be an idiot like me.
If you send Giles a pump drain the diesel out before shipping. I didn't think about it...the pump had a little in it, but I thought if it hadn't leaked out in 7 years....I didn't even have that thought process until I had talked to Giles and he asked if I drained it or not.

Please, drain your pump before sending to Canada. Not only will you like not having to talk to the post office for hours, but they won't think your a terrorist either:D

Giles,

My pump is on its way, but I had a question.  What should I set the injection timing to?

Any advice would help.

Thanks in advance.

Giles is a very infrequent reader of these forums... your best bet is to contact him directly via the contact info at the beginning of this thread.

i like to tell people to set their timing to .95mm but every engine
is diferent and you might have to change it a little bit after.

that is a good starting point. i build into your pump lots of dynamic
timing so you don't need to add static timing like a stock pump.

sorry to bring this out of the dead but it has not been asked before.

is there an additional fee if supplying an NA pump for use in a TD performance pump? Please excuse my ignorance as there may be differences in the internals, and i know there is no boost compensation. my N/A pump is still good so i can easily sell it used and pick up a TD pump that needs a rebuild.

just wondering what route i should take

Hi great to hear from you.
if you give me an NA pump to build as a turbo pump then yes there will be extra charges since the two pumps
are very different inside and as you metion it doesn't have the LDA. there are enough differences that you really
need the turbo pump to start with.  so by all means sell your NA and get a turbo pump. pls make sure the core
you buy has good internals, no rust or damagdes inside. too often people buy cores to send me and get a dud
pump that will need allot of extra parts and or cleaning which will incure more charges at my shop.
we sell Turbo cores for $250 and there are no extra charges and you don't have any shipping charges too.

hope this helps explain
Giles

Giles, do you do regular reseals, i.e. NOT build a super-pump? Just thinking of those like me on a budget who want a quality reseal, but can't yet afford the cost of the upgrade. If you only do SUPER PUMPS, can you or anyone else recommend a good rebuilder on the internet?

THANKS!

I have been getting allot more requests for pumps recently and would
like to thank everyone for their support.

I love doing this kind of Hot Rodding.

With the amount of time spent on each pump customizing to each
individual's needs trust me the shop does not make much money.

i am doing this for the pure joy of hearing about people going fasts in
their Diesels.

Giles

Seems to me that you would hear about a lot more people goign fast in thier deiesel if you would show everyone or at least tell everyone what exactly you do to the pumps.
You know, to promote your love of hot rodding and all!

He did. About a year ago. He said he did some machining to make the dynamic advance come on faster, and some other things. Search his posts you will find it. For the piece of mind and what not it really isn't that much money to have him build one.

Just wanted to give everyone an update about Performance Diesel Injection shop during our hard times right now.
we've been non stop going since Covid started, all the lockdowns and shut downs has actually made us busier as i think people are doing more projects at home and also fixing things they might have putting off for a while.

Current pricing for 2021 is as follows.

1.6L NA performance pump   $1000
1.6L Turbo performance pump $1200
1.9L Turbo performance pump $1200
For any of these above non-performance pump stock rebuild -$200 of these prices

IDI injectors are prices as follows

1.6L NA or Turbo $95 each
1.9L AAZ $115 each

1.9L TDI 1Z, AHU or ALH (Man or Auto)  $1000  (with advance mod and fuel tweaked high side)

TDI injectors can be built with almost any option of nozzles you want.
P520 (.205) are $135 each
P502 (.216) are $155 each
we use German made nozzles of very high quality  (DTP brand)

M-TDI pump

$1500 with customer providing 3 core pumps,
TDI pump
AAZ pump with same style mount as your original TDI pump
any 1.6L pump

Options with my M-TDI pump are many, if you give me 10mm pump then you get pump with 10mm.  If you give me 11mm pump then pump is built with 11mm pump.

If you want bigger i can do that too, more $ of course.  If you want really big i can do that too, if you want very high RPM can also do this.

pls call me with any questions and prices not mentioned here.

All prices are in CAD $ and shipping to you is on top, all prices above also assume you send me good rebuildable core pumps and or injectors.
broken, rusty internals or full of VEG fuels will incur extra charges.

all the best
Thanks

Giles
