I drove a brand new (35 km) 170 horse version and I had NO complaints at all. Flogged it for 8 days and never used a drop of oil.
Was actually talking about the 170 hp version, but I can't give WOT @ take-off as these are usually customers cars I'm test driving. So my findings are based off of rolling starts, which is why I say below 2800 feels laggy. Do agree about the injectors and SAI; when they start up cold the combination of the two makes the engine sound like it's grinding rocks!
ahh that's not it at all. The guy just didn't want to part with 10K to take it off your hands and break your heart.

Oh now we get the true story. First time I have heard of that. In the housing arena they put that sale contingent on sale of house B. This is new to me, sale dependant on finding sweet ride replacement vehicle. What is next? Care for the UniMog instead of a Jetta. The backhoe option could be useful in heavy traffic or for contracting out as a second job. We all need one of those right?
