Injector return pipe: anyone found anything better?
« on: January 26, 2012, 07:55:20 pm »
Hi all  :)

I keep getting diesel leaks from my injector return lines, and i was wondering if anyones found a harder wearing substitute for the over braided rubber hose?

I went to my polaris dealer and got some clear primer hose, fits real tight and has worked for over a year so far.
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

I've been using 1/8'' ID x 1/4'' OD Tygon hose for past several years.
Been really pleased with it.

Some of it is translucent yellow, and some clear.

Places that service lawn equipment weedeaters chainsaws and such will have it in stock.

If you get anything like this - DON'T get the thin wall 1/8 x 3/16

Napa sells the right size fuel line. I had similar issues, and after trying vacum lines and an assortment of other hosing, the fuel lie from NAPA has worked great.

I just put PA (polyamid-track air break lines) and change up to all pneumatic conections.

Import vacuum lines..

ive got toyota vacuum lines on my injector return lines, and ive been running bio, and regular D thru them, and have NO LEAKS..
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.
