seems to me that i have never seen an idi that doesnt leak oil, and i have seen a relatively high ammount of them.  my dad has one which sweats oil, doesnt actually drip but the block and pan are wet from oil that very very slowly comes out the main seals. i consider this leaking.

is there some kind of trick to making a vw diesel not leak or sweat oil?

mine leaves little drops whereever i go. leaks from the main seals just like my dads, only worse.

HaHa.  The old subaru's are renowned for leaking oil all over too.  Glad I don't have to give that up just because I got a VW.....   :?    Mine is all covered in oil already, but I think it's all biodiesel from fiddling with the fuel system.
