82 vanagon diesel with AAZ engine and DK trans  Engine ran low on oil and burned up crank bearings. crank and at least 1 rod need replacing  Rear Breaks Just done, Trans and Engine had only 9000 miles on rebuild, never saw the oil light, checked oil regularly but my van dream is dead.  Can't afford to put in any more money.  I have the title in my name, oregon plates on the van.  Make an offer,  i'd rather not scrap but i probably will this weekend.  I might pull some parts, but i don't know if i want to deal with selling parts.  Has the alloy rims, someone might want those...  the turbo maybe, or the injector pump might be worth something... what would you do? :-[  van is the 2 tone blue one in my profile pic.  located in southern rhode island.

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

with what sounds as a oil issue falure.. id assume turbo is a good core/rebuild...

ri traffic sucks ball by the way... i towed home a tdi from that area years ago in the spring.. using a eurovan.. uhaul trailer.. and every time i had a oppertunity i got cut off by the other idiot drivers.. i mean can you say rubbin paint... no room to slow down.. they wanted eurovan up the arss...

hauling vanagon.... i cannot imagine.. id say take engine, cherrypicker and install in drive way and drive vs tow...
