Does any body sell just the outer cv joint we have two axles laying here with bad outer joint. Would like to replace the bad joints instead of buying hole axles each time.

I have always found it much cheaper to just replace the whole shaft with a reman unit. They are dirt cheap here,$70 gets you a reman shaft with warranty.

Plus, there is no labour involved except to swap out the shaft.

The rebuilt halfshafts are usually just used parts where they simply put together the parts that looked best with new boots and grease. I used a set of Beck Arnley axles once and the boots ripped fairly quickly. One clicked out of the box so I had to take it back and get another one. With moderate power they tend to break. I think I snapped one in about 3 days while making ~160whp.

Maybe it's different there, but up here most rebuilt shafts are top quality.I've toured the facilty where they are rebuilt.

They are actually stronger,as they are machined oversized, with oversizes balls and races installed. They did have some problem with early ones years ago,as they were machining away too much, and removing the surface hardening on the bearing surfaces. That problem has been solved.

The only drawback I have found,is the boots seem fail sooner than the OEM ones. They still usually last 3-4 years, and 100K though. Not bad for $70.00

I have never broken one yet, even on well modifed ricers or tuned diesels.

I need to see if I can find some junk Outter stubs that I can have some Porsche 930 flanges grafted to. Those things stay together being pushed by a blown LS1. Should handle a widdle diesel.
