A little pricey
« Reply #3 on: February 04, 2006, 01:46:23 pm »
It burns oil and has 370 000 km on the engine ( we know is correct because).

Burns Oil:
Might have blow bye
Turbo Seals
Maybe an oil drain could show up a head gasket problem
370 000 km

All for 1500, seems a little to pricey to me, considering the engine state.

I've never quite gotten the 2-door Jetta attraction.  Kinda like pants with one leg sown shut.

Insurance is more also...

Then again, I have a wife and kid.

I'm just the opposite, I hate anything with more than 2 doors.  ;)  I actually thought the 2-door Jettas were pretty sharp, sorta looked like old BMW's.

i agree the coupes have more appeal! this one for sale in the ad linked above is too much money for what sounds like a rough car.

   Funny how personal preferences work out.  I'm don't much care if it's two or four doors, but it better be a hatchback or wagon.   I can't stand cars with trunks.  Can't haul lumber or furniture or bikes in them....

I do think it's a little rediculous that my insurance for my GTI is more than my subaru, which is a bigger car with slightly more power (than the NA diesel, probably not than the original gas GTI engine...) and has 4wd.

trailers are made for people who need more room than a trunk provides.

with that said, i have a hatch and am thinking of getting a trailer.

How about a VW synchro double cab transporter with a TD ???  If I could find a nice one of those I would give up my truck.  But the last one of those I saw for sale was $25k
