not even close. not even with lots of fabrication..

if you wanna save a hundred bucks on a mk2 suspension for your mk1, then your going to make up for the good deal with all the work to actually install the SUSP..

you better just leave that to someone with a mk2, or mk3 car, that it actually fits..

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

There's an old post on vortex about this somewhere, and I'll be damned if I can find it..  IIRC they were using MK2 front strut housings on a Mk1 and made spacers to connect them to the knuckle..  Their reasoning was that it would allow for a caster adjustment..  As far as a complete drop in replacement, X2 on what Kevin said..

Hummmm........................yes, IF you get EVERYTHING!

Top to Bottom, side to side. EVERYTHING!

The springs will be way too heavy, (front end will sit way up).

I did it on my '81 caddy, put the original springs in....not too bad.

no way, it doesnt work. period. the cars are WAY TOO DIFFERENT.. ive debated putting mk2 suspension in my mk1 cars.. its fairly impossible, we even made a thread about it a year or so ago..

if you basically cut the front of a mk2 off, and use all the suspension points on the mk1 car, then it might work. but its not something thats easily done..

the shock towers are WAY DIFFERENT between the 2 platforms.. mk1 suspension bolts to the strut tower, mk2 just sits in the strut tower..

anyways, should post up pics, and a detailed installation, because we have never figured out how to do it..
