MY GLX conversion

1998 TDI drivetrain into a 1997 GLX
compression on an AHU with 430,000 kms


only a small reason to get rid of the body


donor coming apart


GLX from california. In the backround is my 71 2.2 liter beetle that i just sold after having it for 32 years.



wear in pump ,never opened, over 100,000kms on VO


my pump rebuilder figured that the pitting at the lift pump was because the car used to sit for days and weeks at a time and water separated out of the diesel and causing this

uhoh which box was which?


ugh. my suggestion to anyone wanting to do a similar swap, get a 97 for a 97, a 98 for a 98 etc. Most hooked right up, but stuff the alarm airbags etc were not exactly the same. I got it all working but i did have to flip back and forth through the wiring diagrams to sort it all out


AHU in. The extra bits are for the VO system

now just waiting for a chip from Malone and install the Scan gauge
