I'm about to buy a VW with a diesel engine.
When i look at mileage figures for different cars in Sweden it seems that a VW Golf or Jetta model GTD from 84-89 would be the right choice for me beacuse i drive approx. 150 km/day.
Are thoose the only cars this engine is fitted in or are there any others?
It seems that a Golf/Jetta model 87 have a much better highway mileage compared to a Golf/Jetta model 91 (4,0 L/100 km compared to 4,8 L/100 km) and the model 86 Golf GTD have specified power of 52kW compared to the specified power of 51 kW for the model 87.
Anybody got a detailed history of the changes of the VW TD engines between 84 and 92?
