Can the VE pump off an Audi 5000 turbodiesel be modified to deliver fuel to a 3L engine with the same number of cylinders?
i would imagine you just put a bigger head on it, but every engines going to want a different timing setting and a different advance curve

i would go for the inline pump off a mercedes diesel..
Actually what I was after is figuring out if the VE pump can be persuaded to work with the 5 cylinder Mercedes turbodiesel engine.

uh, why would you want to do something like that? the inline pump has more potential..
the VE pump is just more easily modified and tuned. ive heard of the merc guys getting 7k rpms out of the inline pumps.
if you can get 6500 out of a VE pump, you must have spoken with god at one point or another..
only good reason i could see coming out of this, is that you will be able to more easily tune the pump.. but your going to have to find a timing spec that the merc likes, and come up with custom injection lines and probably a custom gear to drive the pump.. im sure there are some things im leaving out too, thats just a partial list..
