Caddy tailgate hardware

anyone ever found the retainer clips that hold the rods onto the lever that actuates the release mechanism on a caddy tailgate? the part number is 179 829 527 VW tells me it is no longer available.



was that a run on sentence? lol

I use these on mine, seem to do the job and cheap too!!!
Can't remember the size though, found at most autoparts stores and some hardware stores.

Not sure if the one pictured is the correct size or not, they also come in LH or RH.
I found mine in some old carb linkage stuff I had laying around.

I'll check Parts on Demand. Some dealers are lazy and won't tell you if another dealer has it. They usually only check to see if one of the warehouses has it. It could be obsolete, yet one dealer could have 50 of them.

Scratch that. None left anywhere.
