Doors not opening anymore

Hey,

  Josephine is going strong but she don't
let me in the car anymore.......
She is a 1991 jetta diesel.........
drivers door, can't open it anymore...
squeeze the handle but doesn't get the door open
it will open from the inside.......
   How to fix? anyone has tango with this one?

Rear door.....
 It works fine until you lock it....... It locks ok.....
it is when you unlock it.... It still thinks it is locked
but, I think it won't let you open it for either
side(inside or outside) until you do some crazy combination
of pulling up and down on the door lock knob.... and then
trying to open from the inside and the outside......
Definetley causes alot of cursing......
any fixes out there........

Diagrams, what linkage it messed up......
can I just bent something to adjust the linkage
etc etc.....
and help would be appreciated...

front door should just need the handle re-aligned.. or replaced..

back door, it prolly has something to do with that ridiculously long lock linkage being loose.

my doors dont unlock sometimes, just lock it again, then quickly pull up on the inside lock pull..

Your front door problem is probably the exterior handle is broken. take it off and look at the mechanism.
The rear door issue is probably that it's gummed up. Remove it also, get out the wd-40 [or whatever] and lock/unlock itand move all the levers until it's all nice and free. then apply some anti seize [it won't wash off easily]
