Picked up a set of aluminum wheels, but I'm afraid they may be way to deep (they're like 3/4" away from the strut)..and I'm concerned they may rub once I get a tire on there.
Anyone know what kind of clearance a guy needs between the wheel and the strut in order to clear everything with a 13" tire? I'm afraid I might need spacers.
We need width and offset info on the wheels. Are you going to try to run near stock tire sizes? Any more info on your suspension setup?
Best as I can figure:
6 3/8" wide
5" backspace
which ends up being (by my figures)
6.375-5=1.375 = 34.92mm =~= 35mm positive offset
Yeah, I'd like to run close to stock (I think they're gonna have to be slightly wider, I don't think stock will fit)...and the suspension is stock.
then again, I could be figuring wrong....
With a 5.5J rim you can just get 38mm positive offset if you are running 0 camber
5.5J is about 6" wide including the rim
6" =150mm
centre line is therefore 75mm in from each edge
Adding in the 38 gives 113mm
So you have 113mm from wheel mounting face to rubbing the strut with a 13" rim
The dimensions are marked on most wheels find the ET and the J number and post it up.
k, I'll try to absorb that, I'm in the middle of a clutch job atm.

idk what offset wheels i had, but i had some RWD offset wheels on my black rabbit, they were keystones, 13x6 i believe..
AND THEY RUBBED BAD..
