1.9 turbo diesel IDI, engine code is AAZ. this is a canadian spec turbo diesel, and is not sold in the USA. Its tough to get ahold of, and even harder to get ahold of in complete rebuilt and nice condition.
this engine is mechanically injected, and very simple to work on...
I have done the following to the motor...
New crank from ALH TDI. The original cranks have nose/keyway problems. The new crank is good to go forever.
all new rod and main bearings
newish pistons and new rings
fully rebuilt cylinder head with all new valves
new timing belt
ARP head studs and new head gasket
new main seals
new camshaft seals
the injection pump does not leak. i did have the injectors cleaned. the pump has the 1.6TD boost pin, which allows more fuel at a higher boost level.
the motor is intercooled.
it has a new radiator, and new fan. I drove it around the other day in rush hour when it was 100 degrees out and had no issues.
the turbo has no play and spools really well...right now its running around 20psi, and its pretty fast. fuel economy is really good if you can keep your foot out of it.
it has a full techtonics 2 1/4 exhaust
interior is nice. it has leather scirocco height adjustable seats. it has a brand new old school blaupunkt tape deck/cd changer thing. it has a nice CB radio if thats your thing.
everything works except the fuel gauge. the truck is extremely clean in terms of rust, but was repainted at one time. I doubt it has ever seen rust. I have a ladder rack, and a topper for the truck.
the ATS wheels are not included, you'd need to bring your own wheels, or I suppose I can find some for you.
any questions let me know. theres a lot more to talk about, but i figure any serious buyer will just talk to me about the truck... I want $6500
