the coolness of your dub is measured by the dents and scratches on your oil pan.

(shakes head) the only time I've hit my oil pan is when I go over a 4-5 inch rock or have the wheels sunk to the rims in mud........very annoying ::)
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

the coolness of any mk2 is measured by how little the V-belt squeels. And thats my legitimate belief.

Not a John Deere but I thought of you anyway. Good luck getting them not to rub.

I run 195/60 15's om BBS rims, mk 2 Jetta and don't have any problems. They're the right offset for a Volkswagen. I do have bigger springs in the back, but stock springs in the front. There isn't room for any more tire than it's got though.

weird, i have 185/70/14s on my car, on some enkei 92s, et38 i think? and they are right at the edge of the fender arch.

Tire to strut is the limiting factor on mine......

my new GTI must be super cool then, because none of the belts make noise. its only got 2 belts (timing and alt/water pump) and neither one of them squeel.

My water alt belt does. The alt pulley is smooth as glass.

thats the problem right there.. my old GTI had a glazed alt pulley too.. it would squeel occasionally if you cranked the stereo up for too long..

If that's the case, I must be Miles Davis. ;-)

I'm going to try and wire wheel the pulley.

sand paper will work better. wire wheel wont rough it up much.. the sand paper will dig down thru the glaze..
