it took a while but i final got the headgasket on and finshed. the first time i started it i couldn't get it with the starter so i draged it. when it finally started it was running rough, i could not let off or it would stall, there was no power. i was thinking that maybe it would have to break it or something''first headgasket on a diesel.'' after it warmed up i turn the bolt the other quarter turn when to start it wont start had to drag again.
well today i go out to work on it see whats going on. i turn the motor by hand and hear compression escaping from i thing the valves. from all 4 cylinders. im guessing that its not normal. wonder what i shound do?
do the gasket again, reseat or replace valves??

Well aslong as you have the timing correct, and it did not have these symptoms before you changed the head gasket. Maybe the head is warped, or improper torque sequence??
