best i had on my 1.6 gtd golf 2(dynoed 139hp) was 4.5lt/100km(52mpg?) and that was loaded with camping gear(only front seats were empty
),running 9X15 steelies and doing 100km/h most of the time.
on a lighter car, better gearing(i had a 4S) and a good engine/pump i believe less than that can be achieved.
wish that hagar could be here to state on this, for me he could never be a bullsh*t or lying person and i remember he stated bunny bondo was getting very good numbers...
my aaz passat never had a good trip to check best fuel consumption scenario but riding it daily i can get as low as 5.8lt/100km,and that is with a vehicle that weights almost double than a stock rabbit and as almost 3 times his power...
ALWAYS had better fuel consumption with my cars with upgraded engine setups than in stock form...
