well my tracker transmission is about to give it up and with the new job I dont have time to mess with the TDI so I will be removing it and selling it eventually. here are the details
early 1.9L TDI, larger injectors (I will find the size), approx 60k on the engine, giles superpump, IHI variable gate, ball bearing, water cooled turbocharger, intercooler from a Beetle to come with it, currently has a modified oil pan to fit in a GEO Tracker, waterpump, vane type vacuum pump, block heater.
the bad part/unknown is that ever since I put it in the tracker I have had a nock, I suspect that it is in the transmission as I cannot hear anything on the engine when it is running and the trans internal bearings are shot to the point that its jumping out of gears and the fluid was very shiny and dark. I have put 14,000 miles on it with the nock and get anywhere between 28 and 34 mpg in the tracker with 31x10.5 inch tires. the turbo will surge around 25 psi of boost but I have it limited to about 15 psi right now with the variable gate control via a boost aneroid.
it runs great and starts right up, I just cannot come up with a real good explanation for the nock so I understand why someone would be a little leary and want to lowball me. however I have $1200 into the injection pump alone (3.5 years ago) so I am reluctant to just give the whole engine away. pm me or email me at
