I am based in the United Kingdom.
I have a 1.9 IDI 1Y engine that is getting stripped for spares. Was a good runner and from a family owned car, 80k miles.
Complete cylinder head is sold, and the oil was clean inside the engine, hardly even grey! There was no cracking between valve seats which gives an indication that it had not had a hard life.
The crank is being used in a petrol stroker conversion, but pretty much everything else is available. Pistons, rods, oil pump, IM shaft etc.
The rods are 150mm long and possibly used in AAZ builds due to better rod crank angles.
Example of prices. (UK pounds)
1Y inlet manifold £30 (provisionally sold)
1Y 1.9 IDI injection pump £40
Rods and pistons £30 (provisionally sold)
Crank timing belt pulley (no wear on keyway) £10
IM shaft £10
T4 van sump £10
TDI 1Z injection pump £40
Shipping would be extra.
I am a newbie on here but have shipped parts abroad and have feedback on another forum I can link folk to if they wish.
I got a tonne of other Euro VW parts too, so if anyone over the pond needs anything from Euroland just get in touch. (mods, please delete this offer if not allowed)
If you still have the intake manifold, i would list it as those engines were never exported to North America and some can use that type of intake. I had to get mine from Poland !
Can I get a pic of the 1Y airfilter assy ?
[email protected]I have the intake and hose already
@ GEE BEE. The mk3 1Y airbox has a large side that fits into the inner wing, it is not suitable for mk1 or 2 applications, so was left in the car and scrapped. There are a lot of different types of airbox in Europe. Seat cars are an option for sourcing usable types. Have a look here and you can see the Seat Toledo type I used on my own Rocco, it needed slight cutting to the bottom to fit low enough to clear the bonnet.
