fuel pump broke
« on: March 27, 2011, 09:34:08 am »
my fuel pump is leaking out of the top where the throttle wire hooks up I tried putting an o ring in there and had crappy luck putting it back together because of all the splines inside wont line up and then I was told if I don't have it on right I could blow something up does any one know some one that fixes these thing for a fair price?

There are a lot of canadian members on here.
I'm guessing edm is Edmonton.
If you make a thread title like - Need 1.6 help in [city/province]
... you might find a few in your area.

I can send a close-up picture of the markings on the throttle arm and the groove on the top of shaft that are for alignment of the splines. If you send me your email addy.

Most all mk1 and mk2 i've messed with use the same alignment mark parameters. But i haven't done hundreds or thousands of them .. yet. But it would be worth an easy try, using these parameters.

The most likely scenario is no start or no acceleration if its splined wrong. In some cases it might could create wide open throttle with wrong alignment. Be prepared.

the best way to get it sorted, is to take the lever off the shaft, and start the car. thats how i adjust my splines when i mess them up..
