Welcome to the forum Andy.
Run while you can - these guys are the really Crazy ones.

I thought Cambo was gonna work scams on us at first.
Glad i read this thread.

Most all fairly competent and basically equipped shops can do the blocks just fine. The cylinder head resurfacing is where it gets complicated.
Good luck with your AAZ.
And look into the crank bolt upgrade while the crank is in hand.

Already done; got a TDI crank gear w/ bolt and had the crank static balanced and cut for the new gear.  That and using studs on EVERYTHING (still on the fence about making the #4 main full circle groove bearing for the #3 rod oiling thing).

And I work best with the crazy ones.  8)

Most shops can do the blocks just fine, but some don't. My guy did fine and bored to .001", but he said normally diesel he goes to .003", which would be the equivalent of a worn out VW block if they do. So as long as they look at the specs every shop is capable of doing a good job, it is just a question of if they will or not.

Yeah, I sent along the specs from the Mk3 bentley with my reciprocating assembly, so hopefully he uses them.

http://www.myturbodiesel.com/forum/f23/  is another place for ya to join.. one of the members here directed me fo rsome pd timming bel tinfo.. and his tutorials are pretty good.. he too requires a real post which pretty eliminates spam bots..
