WTB: 1.6 or 1.9 head - NEW
« on: January 26, 2011, 09:20:23 am »
So, my machinist says my head is done for.  "Fatal crack"  Moment of silence, please.  :'(

I'm looking for a new head, 1.6 hydro or 1.9, to put on my 1.6TD.

Anyone out there have one, or know where I can get one?

Looking for new, not used. The real deal, no Chinese copies.

And, yes, I searched the for sale and vendors section before asking...

Thanks!

so, if your looking for a new head, why dont you go to the dealer and spend 800 on an AAZ head?
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

I will take your junker...alot of machinists don't know jack. Even so nothing is beyond repair for some...so if you are throwing it away I will take it.

Dealer is your only option for new I would guess. Many have done topline, they aren't china, I think they are brazil.

Spend some time wading through all the parts on "the Samba."
Recently, there was a fellow from Kansas with a NEW german head minus all the valves and springs, etc.

Edit: yes, there is one from Kansas currently showing at $375 without freight. Not sure where it was manufactured.
The folks at [email protected] may be able to help you out with a rebuilt one.

The mask and the shot(s) are actually an IQ test. If you are wearing or circulating, you just failed the test. I can't feel sorry for you.

go to boraparts.com and give aaron a call, he is the best and can get you a new 1.6td head for around 550 and an AAZ head for around 700
