shocks .......type/where?

Need recommendations

OK, I think I'll break down and get some new shocks/struts for the the car.  I'd like them to work well on rough roads and some gravel. I think I'll  have to replace the springs as the front of the car sits much lower.

So can any of you knowlegable VW types recommend the goods and store?

BTW I'm in ON NW of the GTA, so I don't mind the drive.
